Candidates may be shortlisted for Phase 2 based on the percentile
obtained in Phase 1. The rulebook provides for shortlisting candidates
up to seven times the number of vacancies in each applicable vertical
category, subject to the prescribed cutoff conditions. 7

The practical test carries 100 marks and the minimum qualifying
requirement is 30%. For the Subedar Steno post, the test includes
Hindi shorthand dictation at 100 words per minute followed by computer
transcription. For ASI, the test involves Hindi typing on computer.
